50 Cent Uses MTV's 'Cribs' To Help Sell His Mansion

NEW YORK, NY (November 29, 2007) – 50 Cent is using MTV to help sell his mansion.

Tonight on MTV’s “Cribs,” 50 will show off the 48,000-square foot property he’s hoping to sell for $18.5 million, according to the Associated Press.

50 bought the mansion three years ago. It was previously owned by boxing legend Mike Tyson, who apparently kept things somewhat old-school.

“It kind of had a `Miami Vice’ feel. It was like turquoise blue on the floor and purple,” the rapper told the AP. “It was crazy looking when I got there.”

During his stay at the house, 50 brought the home up to date by installing a nightclub, a basement studio and a swing, which hangs from a ceiling in the property. The home also offers so much space, 50has spent plenty of time in peace, away from houseguests.

“I’ll let them stay on the other side of the house and not actually see them for a day or so, because the house is broken up in three sections — the east side, the west side and then the center of the home,” he said.

So why is he selling?

50 told the AP he’s hoping to downsize. “It might be a lot smaller,” he said of his future digs. “The basics — maybe four or five bedrooms.”
